About CCUSM School Overview

The Columbus Central University School of Medicine (CCUSOM) in Belize City was established in 2006 and has grown to become one of the top medical schools in the Caribbean. It offers a highly regarded MD Program in Caribbean, attracting students from around the world who seek quality medical education and a pathway to a successful medical career.

Both the Ministry of Health and Wellness in Belize and the National Medical Commission of India have accredited CCUSOM. Also accredited by the WHO, the school is listed in the Global Directory of Medical Schools.

Our MD Program

CCU provides a comprehensive 54-month program to obtain a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree. The curriculum covers the essential aspects of medical sciences, clinical skills, and patient care. The medical program at CCUSOM follows a US-modeled curriculum, similar to those offered by an American MD Program University and the MD Program American University of the Caribbean, aimed at preparing students to become proficient physicians not only in the United States, Canada, or worldwide but also in any other location where they plan to practice medicine.
