The admissions process at CCUSOM takes a comprehensive approach, which involves assessing an applicant’s abilities, experiences, and academic performance. This approach is personalized, and considers a range of factors in order to provide a well-rounded assessment. While a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 is required for applicants, there may be some exceptions made based on the quality of their essay, letters of recommendation, and extracurricular activities. In order to be eligible for our degree programs, applicants must have successfully completed a minimum of 90 credit hours of college coursework, including the required prerequisite courses. If applying as a transfer student from another medical school, the applicant must meet certain requirements depending on the country where the medical school is located. For international medical schools, the school should be listed on the World Directory of Medical Schools, while for US or Canadian medical schools, they must be accredited.
The CCU Faculty of Medicine accepts applications from current students in good standing and graduates of accredited colleges who:
- Present evidence that their intellectual and personal credentials are of such quality as to predict success in the study and practice of medicine
- Demonstrate aptitude in the biological and physical sciences during their undergraduate years, but not to the exclusion of the humanities and social sciences
