Application Process in 4-Steps

Step 1 - Application

Students are required to complete an application form with all the necessary details and submit the application fee.

Step 2 - Evaluation and Interview

The admissions board evaluates the application and arranges an interview, taking into account the applicant’s location.

Step 3 - Final Decision by the Admissions Panel

After the completion of the interview process, the Admissions Panel convenes to evaluate each application and make a final decision.

Step 4 - Reception of Acceptance Letter

Accepted students will be notified of their admission through multiple channels, including email, phone, and an official admission package.

Personal statement

  • The required length of the statement should not be shorter than one page or longer than two pages, with a 1.5 line spacing.

  • The personal statement is an opportunity for us to understand you better as an applicant. So please share your personal story that has inspired you to pursue a career in medicine. This may include your achievements, challenges, and experiences that have shaped your journey. 

  • The applicant’s full name is required.

Resume or Curriculum Vitae Official transcripts

  • You need to submit official transcripts from all the colleges/universities or professional schools you have attended.

  • The official transcripts must be sent directly to CCUSOM’s office by the institution.

Two letters of recommendation

  • At least one of the letters of recommendation must be an academic reference letter. The letter should be written by a science professor who has taught the applicant and is familiar with their academic proficiency.

  • The “Professional Letter” can be provided by a non-science professor, employer, medical colleague, or any other professional who can certify the applicant’s personality, academic, or work capabilities.

A nonrefundable application fee of $100.00

Additional Application Requirements

  • Submission of MCAT scores is not mandatory.
  • Prior to enrollment at CCUSOM, all students must provide a Police Clearance Certificate for a criminal background check.

Application Deadlines

We provide three start dates for enrollment per year – January, May, and September. However, US and Canadian students are advised to submit their applications at least two months before their preferred start date. Those transferring from another medical school into our clinical science programs can apply at any time throughout the year and commence their education with us at any point during the year, as we offer clinical rotations year-round.

Clarification on CCUSOM Programs

We wish to inform you that CCUSOM has no partner campuses, split programs in India, or offline premed centers. Our programs are exclusively completed within the university in Belize. Any rumors circulating in India about such arrangements are untrue. Trust only official communications for accurate information.
