At CCU, we take pride in fostering and encouraging the growth of upcoming academic health leaders who will make a positive impact on our society and enhance the well-being of people and communities by uncovering, implementing, and sharing knowledge.
CCU provides a comprehensive 54-month program to obtain a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree. The curriculum covers the essential aspects of medical sciences, clinical skills, and patient care. The medical program at CCUSOM follows a US-modeled curriculum aimed at preparing students to become proficient physicians not only in the United States, Canada, or worldwide but also in any other location where they plan to practice medicine. It follows the guidelines of the United States Medical Licensure Examination (USMLE) and is delivered by knowledgeable professors who have vast experience in patient care, medical research, and teaching.
The medium of instruction and assessment is English, and the main aim of this program is to prepare students to pursue a range of medical career paths with the intention of becoming physician leaders who can enhance biomedical research and the health of communities at the local, national, and international levels.
The MD program’s curriculum is meticulously curated to provide students with a unique learning experience that combines laboratory work, classroom instruction, clinical exposure, and community involvement during the first two years. This prepares them for the hands-on learning that takes place during the clerkship. The third and fourth years of the program offer integrated learning opportunities that promote the development of knowledge, skills, and professional attitudes during elective rotations.
We wish to inform you that CCUSOM has no partner campuses, split programs in India, or offline premed centers. Our programs are exclusively completed within the university in Belize. Any rumors circulating in India about such arrangements are untrue. Trust only official communications for accurate information.
