TRANSCRIPTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

All residency programs, as part of the application process, require:

All attended medical school transcript(s)

A Dean’s letter from the current school

Three letters of recommendation

Most programs require official transcripts and a Dean’s letter sent directly from the school, while letters of recommendation should be confidential and sent directly from the recommending persons. However, some programs may allow unofficial copies to be sent with the application and official copies to be sent later if the student is invited for an interview. Students should confirm the specific requirements with each program before submitting their application. The Dean’s Letter is a document provided by the Dean of Clinical Science that includes information about the student’s academic performance and excerpts from letters of recommendation in their file. To request a dean’s letter, students must fill out a form from the Clinical Department’s website and include their resume and a personal statement.
